The 2016 mystery-thriller "Inferno," starring Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones, and Irrfan Khan, was directed by Ron Howard. The third film in the Robert Langdon series, following "The Da Vinci Code" (2006) and "Angels & Demons" (2009), is based on the Dan Brown novel of the same name.
The story of "Inferno" revolves around Langdon, a Harvard symbology professor who awakens in a Florence hospital with amnesia and a mystery artefact tucked away in his things. To prevent the spread of a plague, Langdon and a young doctor named Sienna Brooks must follow a trail of hints left by a crazy man who is obsessed with Dante's "Inferno."
