The sci-fi anime series "DARLING in the FRANXX" is set in a post-apocalyptic future where people live in movable cities called Plantations that are continuously threatened by terrifying animals called Klaxosaurs. The Plantations train pairs of young pilots to operate the enormous mecha known as FRANXX in order to fight these animals.
Hiro, a former FRANXX prodigy pilot who has lost his confidence and sense of direction, and Zero Two, a mystery female with Klaxosaur blood who is renowned as the "Partner Killer," are the main characters of the plot. Together, they become a part of Squad 13, a group of other teenage pilots, and struggle to save humanity against the Klaxosaurs while learning the truth about their world and themselves.
